Founded in 1957, TSL is a holding company with diversified interest in industrial warehousing and logistics solutions, the supply of inputs to agriculture, tobacco growing, wrapping, auctioning and export, printing and packaging, and car rental services.
These activities are conducted under the following companies: TSL Classic Leaf, Propak, Bak Logistics, Agricura, Avis, TSF, TSL Properties, TSL Trading and TSL Greenbelt.
The major contributors to the Group’s revenues are Tobacco Sales Floor Limited (TSF), Zimbabwe’s largest Tobacco auction floor, which provides services to tobacco growers and merchants alike in the tobacco exchange business. The auction floors are capable of handling over 2 million kilograms daily, and the auctioning of the total crop produced in Zimbabwe (about 200 million kg’s). TSF was formed in 1958.
Bak Logistics is another major contributor to revenue. The business has been operational since 1974, then trading as Bak Storage. Bak Logistics currently offers its services from 5 locations. These include its head office in the capital city of Harare, and its branches in Bulawayo, Masvingo, Mutare and Gweru.
TSL owns properties under TSL Properties. The properties consist of 140 hectares of land, of which 170,958 square metres is industrial property, including warehousing under roof and 9,606 square meters is office space. As at 31 December 2013 the properties were worth $48 million.
