Introduction

We, Lynton-Edwards Stockbrokers (Private) Limited, (hereinafter referred as “LES” or “Lynton-Edwards” or “We” or “Us”) do affirm our dedication to safeguarding the privacy of our users while providing a personalised and valuable service. This Privacy Policy sets out our policies and procedures for collecting, processing, storing, using and disclosing information provided to us by registrants on our online portfolio valuation tool through this website.

Should you have any concerns or questions pertaining to this Policy Statement, please contact us at info@lynton-edwards.co.zw.

Alterations to this Privacy Policy

Should it be deemed necessary, this Privacy Policy may be altered from time to time. Where such changes are thought to materially alter the provisions herein, we undertake to update users as prominently as deemed possible, including, but not limited to, email alerts. The continued use of the portfolio valuation tool, or any of our services mentioned herein, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information collected by us

The information we collect from registrants includes mandatory and non-mandatory requests. We collect personal information we believe is minimum but sufficient to identify, classify and communicate with the user in serving the purpose of the portfolio valuation tool. We also collect information related to your deemed investment portfolio of shares listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, being the companies you have bought shares into, the number of shares held, purchase values and related entries.

Some information collected by us is not explicitly submitted by the user. Examples of such information include (but are not limited to): browser-type related information, IP address, requested URL, referring URL, and timestamp. Such information help us diagnose problems with our servers, administer the portfolio valuation software, and otherwise provide the highest possible level of service to you. In addition, we use this non- personally identifiable information to perform statistical analysis of user behaviour and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the site.

See “Use of Cookies and IP Address” below.

How we use the portfolio valuation tool information

Most of the information collected from you will be displayed on your online account when you are logged in to the portfolio valuation software. We use information supplied to us to respond to uniquely identify you and be able to provide you with feedback where necessary. We may also use your email address to send you communications from us or generic broadcast informational messages or specific information based on the options you would have chosen during registration. You may opt out of receiving optional emails by changing your email preferences in your email alerts settings. Information related to your portfolio of shares is specifically used by yourself, while we provide the platform for you to be able to do so.

We never share your personally identifiable information with any third parties.

Ad hoc informational updates

On rare occasions, we may send you informational updates related to the portfolio valuation service we provide when it is necessary to do so. Such communications may include (but not limited to) instances when the portfolio valuation tool is temporarily unavailable for upgrades, or when we alert you of changes to this Privacy Policy. Because these are messages directly related to the service we will be providing to you, you may not opt-out of such communications. In the event that you no longer intend to continue receiving these announcements, you may decide to deactivate your account.

Updating user information

Should you decide to change the information you provided during registration, you may correct, update, or delete/remove it by selecting ‘Update My Details’ on the menu. Alternatively, you may send us an email at info@lynton-edwards.co.zw with your request.

Deleting your portfolio valuation account

You may decide to have your account deleted at any time should you deem it necessary for whatever reason. Requests for the deactivation / deletion of accounts may be sent via email at info@lynton-edwards.co.zw. An exit interview or survey may be sent to you to help us understand the reason(s) for your request so as to improve our service. We will respond to your request within 30 days. Please note that there might be latency in deleting information from our servers and backed-up versions might exist after deletion.

Use of cookies and IP addresses

Like most websites, our portfolio valuation software requires cookies to function properly. Cookies are small text files that reside on a user’s computer and identify you as a unique user. We use cookies to refine our services and simplify the user experience. For example, the use of cookies allows registered users to gain access to the portfolio valuation tool without explicitly typing in their email address and password every time they want to access it. For these reasons we tie personally identifiable information such as your email address or user name to our cookies. If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows you to deny or accept the cookie feature.

Portfolio data security

Our portfolio valuation tool accounts are password-protected. We use our reasonable best efforts to protect our users’ information. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personally identifiable information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that personally identifiable information that we collect will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.

You hereby acknowledge that we are not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the Internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.

Controlling Your Personal Information

You should be aware that when you voluntarily disclose personally identifiable information (e.g., user name, e-mail address) via reviews, messages, forums, and/or postings on public platforms, that information, along with any substantive information disclosed in your communication, can be collected and correlated and used by third parties and may result in unsolicited messages from other posters or third parties. Such activities are beyond our control. Please do not post any personal information on this website that you expect to keep private.

Like what most online tools do, our software has an option to remember or ‘cache’ your private information related to your user name and password during logging in to the portfolio valuation software so that you do not have to explicitly enter them each time you want to log in to the software. Generally, if you expect to share the device, it is recommended that you do not ask the device to cache your logging in credentials.

It is recommended that you log out of the portfolio when not using it, or when anticipating a prolonged time of idleness or when there is a possibility that other users may access the device through which you logged in to the portfolio valuation software. Should you feel that the secrecy of your password to access the portfolio valuation tool is threatened; you may always change the password by clicking on ‘Change Password’ on the menu and provide a different and secure password.
